On the Shelf: Deep Roots

A Dungeon World Adventure. 

You find yourself on the back of an ancient, colossal dragon, flying through the sky, high above The World Below. The dragon is known to all as Shelf; the name passed down through legends of the peoples living upon its back. Its back is vast enough to house entire ecosystems, towns, and countries. Symbiotic life grows from its scales, making way for ranging landscapes thriving with a diversity of creatures. In the center of it all grows The Tree of Aeorta, and its roots connect directly to the heart of Shelf. It is the lifeblood of all that lives on Shelf’s back, and it is said to be the origin of the symbiosis. All that lives and dies returns to the land and nourishes Shelf beyond comprehension. This is the probable cause for Shelf’s gargantuan size.  This tree is being threatened along with all of life upon Shelf. Will you try to save it, or perhaps steal its power?
